About
For 1964, Cadillac’s engine displacement was increased to a whopping 429 cubic inches and a new Turbo-Hydramatic transmission was added for increased performance, but the car got only a modest styling face-lift from the 1963 models. The new front featured a bi-angular grille that formed a V-shape along its vertical and horizontal planes. The main grille bar now wrapped around the bodysides.
New for the 1964 model year was Comfort Control, a fully automatic climate control, with temperature selection set by a dial thermostat on the instrument panel. Over 140 other options were available, including automatic headlight control, cruise control, controlled differential, leather upholstery, AM/FM radio, adjustable steering wheel, and remote trunk opener.
